This podcast made me want to read this book. I see this as am excellent book to give to me future social studies students, especially when we talk about civil rights movements. From what you all say, it is an impactful book that brings up the lifestyle of woman in Pakistan. Not having many rights, the main character being such an activist for rights and education for females is very powerful. I also enjoyed listening to the many roles you all had in your book club, since I did Journal club, was very interesting. Word count: 94
Hey y'all! This podcast was great! Y'all constantly talked about the importance of reading this novel and how impactful it could be to middle school students as well as adults. I thoroughly enjoyed how y'all went through each job y'all did for your book club and explained exactly what that meant and what exactly it entailed with your specific novel. I also like how y'all took a hard content for middle schoolers such as the lifestyle of Pakistan women and education and how different it is there, but how also how middle school students can find ways to connect and relate to the material. Lastly, I agree with Heather when she says that finding a balance of having homework, but also having class time to discuss the book, but not wanting to assign a lot of reading on top of that. Overall, y'all did great with your podcast and I thoroughly enjoyed your thoughts on encompassing a book club into a math class where it could be harder to do so! Good job!! Word Count: 173
